In a world overflowing with makeup, simplicity stands out. A single product that serves multiple functions is a game-changer, helping to save both time and money. Generation Z gravitates toward all-in-one items because they’re simple to use, budget-friendly, and perfect for quick touch-ups.

In the past, cosmetic routines involved using separate items for each step, one for the lips, another for the cheeks, and a different one for the eyes. But now, versatile tints have taken over, acting as a colour for the pout, a flush for the face, and a subtle shade for the lids.
“I used to carry so many personal care products in my bag, but now it’s much less,” said Tanishka Arya, 23, a fashion designer from Amity University, Noida. “My go-to essential is Etude’s Dear Darling Water Tint, which works amazingly on my pout, blends beautifully on my profile, and even adds a soft tone to my eye flaps,” she shared.

For Tanishka, multipurpose articles are more than just convenience, they also spark artistry. “I enjoy finding new ways to use a commodity. Three days ago, I had to go straight to the event from college. I didn’t have time for a full routine, so I just grabbed one tint, a lip moisturiser, and a highlighter stick,” she added.
Everyone at the party complimented her look, curious about the materials she used. With a smile, she replied, “Just two or three objects.”
According to a report by Mintel, conducted by Twinkle Behl, Beauty and Personal Care Analyst, at Mintel Reports India, in mid-2024, stated that, 29% of Gen Z women in India believe that it’s important for beauty products to reflect their personal style. This suggests a growing preference for versatile and customizable beauty solutions among Indian Gen Z consumers. / Statista’s 2024 Survey findings indicate that 83% of Gen Z women purchase beauty products online, often opting for versatile products that cater to their dynamic lifestyles.

Aanya Tyagi, 23, a law student at Galgotias University, Noida, shared, “Last weekend, I had a rooftop family function to attend. After a long day of shopping with my family, I didn’t have an opportunity to go home and freshen up,” she recalled with a laugh. “All I had in my bag was my Lakme lipstick of shade, Coffee Command, and a small jar of Vaseline.”
Instead of panicking, Tyagi got creative. First, she swiped the lip cream on her lips, instantly brightening up her complexion. Then, she dabbed a bit of the same Lakme crayon onto her jawline ridges and merged it out with her fingers for a natural flush of colour.
“But the real breakthrough was that, I used Vaseline as a highlighter. I tapped a little petroleum jelly onto the high points of my face, like my facial apples, and the bridge of my nose, to give my skin that dewy glow,” she explained. To top it off, she added a thin layer of jelly over her smacker for a glossy, plump finish.
It worked like magic. In just a few minutes, she went from looking tired to fresh and party-ready, clearly impressed with her quick-fix trick. A clever beauty hack can save one from a last-minute makeup crisis, she ended.
